Collegians demonstrate the Alpha Sig spirit at Convention
Kudos to Olga Zielinska (left) and Jessica Ball, both of Nu Nu Chapter at Drexel University, for achieving the Physical aim at Alpha Sigma Alpha's 46th Biennial National Convention & Leadership Conference held June 30 through July 4, 2010. Convention attendees received pedometers and were encouraged to walk as much as possible; the attendees were also required to log their miles at a check-in point each day. Olga and Jessica explored Indianapolis and were rewarded with gym bags for their efforts.

Scam and stalker warning!
There is a cyberstalker targeting college women on Facebook. His MO is to pose as a "talent agent," friend women on FB, ask for modeling photos for a magazine contest, then badger women for explicit photos of themselves. Police in Florida and Iowa have issued warnings to women in their states, but cybercrime can take place anywhere. Please stay safe!

Start planning for District Days now
District Days may not be until November (the 19th and 20th, specifically), but chapters and members should start budgeting for it now. Each collegiate chapter in District 2 must send at least 15 members to the educational and networking event. Chapters will need to budget for registrations and hotel rooms; individuals will also want to bring spending money for the emporium. See the attached PDF for a breakdown of costs.

What happens on the Internet stays on the Internet … unfortunately
Think you deleted that old party photo? Think again. According to this article, "Researchers at Cambridge University have found that nearly half of the social networking sites don't immediately delete pictures when a user requests they be removed." The lesson: Be careful of what you add to your Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking pages.
