The Palm recognition is awarded to all alumnae chapters in good standing that complete three additional
alumnae chapter expectations (timely submission of all annual reports, all active members must have paid

To qualify for the Star or Crown recognition, the chapter must achieve the Palm level, plus complete seven

| RECRUITMENT RECOGNITIONS |
To help chapters set attainable goals and get motivated to implement the recruitment
initiative, AΣA provided each chapter with a recruitment target goal that reflected the number of
new members to recruit by the end of the school year. Targets were assigned based on the
number of women needed to attain or come close to attaining total, formal rush quota from the past two years,
number of new members the chapter recruited last year, and recruitment potential. AΣA tracked the
targets and offered recognition to chapters that met or exceeded the targets. This year, chapters who
met at least one of their semester targets were awarded $50 for each target met.
Additionally, names of chapters that met their total target for the year were entered in a drawing
for two free convention registrations. The winners of this year’s drawing were ΔΗ chapter (DePaul University) and
ΓΛ chapter at (Loyola University).

AGAPE AWARD WINNER
Kelly (McGinnis) Morello, EK, District 2 Facilitator |
|
The Agape Award recognizes volunteers who display a love for Alpha Sigma Alpha and its members.
Recipients seek at all times to advance the interests of others and to spread the positive influence
of Alpha Sigma Alpha.
“Agape” is an active connection with the needs of others without the requirement of gaining something
in return. Agape is an intentional act of the mind, not a random emotion of the heart. Agape is a love
that is unconditional, redemptive and always seeking benevolence for all, not an investment in a selected
few individuals. Recipients demonstrate a focus on the greater good of Alpha Sigma Alpha, giving full
measure toward the success of others.
National Council created this new award specifically to recognize our volunteer leaders who have made a
significant difference in the lives of our members and have propelled the mission and strategic plan of
the sorority forward. The Agape Awards will only be awarded during national convention years and the
number of recipients is at the discretion of national council. In 2006, we have selected three deserving
volunteers to receive this new award: Kelly McGinnis Morello (EK), Melissa Koch Merriam (EE), and Shelly Dohey Wile (EΛ)
|
|
Strengths that may be used to describe Kelly McGinnis Morello are:
- Achiever – she drives to move her district forward;
- Competitive – performance is her ultimate yardstick;
- Strategic – she sorts through the clutter to find the best route;
- Self-assurance – she is able to meet challenges and deliver.
Kelly is a former collegiate chapter Treasurer and Standards Chairman; Leadership Consultant; Province
Director; Advantage Coaching Team leader; and currently serves as the District Facilitator for District 2.
She has a heart for Alpha Sigma Alpha and always gives full measure.
Congratulations to 2006 Agape Award Winner, Kelly McGinnis Morello, Epsilon Kappa chapter, Millersville University.
