Support the S. June Smith Center

Alumnae are needed to help out at Battle of the Banks, Sunday, February 28, 2010, 11 am to 4 pm, Hempfield High School gym, Lancaster, PA. Central Pennsylvania Alumnae Chapter is coordinating the alumnae effort. Help is needed providing condiments for the hot dog sale, wrapped baked goods, setting up, etc.; shifts available: 11-1, 1-3, 3-4. To sign up, contact Paula Foreman.

Epsilon Kappa Chapter collegians from Millersville University will be there to help out with the games. You can donate online to support your favorite team.

Dr. S. June Smith was a member of Kappa Kappa Chapter at Temple University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. The center that bears her name supports children with developmental needs through education, therapeutic services, and family-centered programming.

Amity among alumnae

The weather cooperated this year for the annual alumnae dinner with Greater Valley Forge and Philadelphia Metro Alumnae Chapters. (Previous events have been snowed out—that can happen this time of year in Pennsylvania.) This year's event was held at the Cheesecake Factory in King of Prussia on January 14, 2010. Eleven women gathered for good food and good company, swapping stories about college, kids, work, and just generally getting to know each other.
